Global's $25,000 donation to boost the quality of health care for families with young children in Ontario

Toronto - Families with young children and aging parents in the City of Mississauga and the surrounding area are one step closer to getting the health care they need and deserve. The expansion now underway at The Credit Valley Hospital will add square footage, enhance critical services and patient satisfaction. To ensure that the hospital continues to deliver excellence and meet its growing health care demands, Global Educational Marketing Corporation (GEMC) has donated $25,000 to help fund the expansion.

“We proudly welcome Global Educational Marketing Corporation to our family of donors and we are grateful for this generous gift in support of our new Regional Maternal Child Centre.” says Norma Bandler, President and CEO of The Credit Valley Hospital Foundation.  “With GEMC's support, The Credit Valley Hospital will ensure that our tiniest and most vulnerable patients get the best care possible”.

Priorities of the expansion include building a new 270,000 square foot facility to house obstetrics, labor and delivery, a special care nursery, pediatrics, long-term care, surgical oncology, palliative care, regional genetics, and a laboratory. The expansion will also create space for additional new beds, relieve emergency department demands, and reduce waiting times for cancer surgery patients.

With the support of its community, The Credit Valley Hospital Foundation will continue to fund critical services to better respond to the future needs of Ontario 's growing population.

The Credit Valley Hospital Foundation is raising $45 million through the Lifetime of Care campaign to support the building of a new 270,000 square foot building to house the Regional Maternal Child Centre, Palliative Care Centre, Complex Continuing Care Centre, and the Regional Genetics and Laboratory program. The expansion will increase the hospital's capacity to 471 beds allowing the hospital to meet current needs much better and also address the needs of the expected increase in patients in the coming years.
