Mr. Rick and Mrs. Sharlene Harwood
Brandon, Manitoba
Their daughter Amber is in her third year of a four year program at Union College in Lincoln , Nebraska , USA , with hopes to have a career in social work. The Harwoods appreciated the Global Plan's unique feature of flexibility to other approved post-secondary institutions, in whichever country the student chooses. Whether Amber chose to get an education in Manitoba or anywhere else in the world, the Global Plan would fund any recognized trade school, college or university worldwide.
Its flexible options to fund Amber's education, even in the United States , allowed her to choose from a variety of schools. Mrs. Harwood said taking advantage of government grants – as part of the Global Plan – are important and should not be ignored.

Mrs. Harwood learned about RESPs and the Global Plan when she attended a church conference in Toronto in 2000. She was shocked to find out how very few families were not interested in saving regularly for their children's education. Although parents cannot determine if their young children will go on to higher education, Mrs. Harwood said the Global Plan will work out fine for everyone because at any time, you can choose to transfer the Global Plan to one of your other children or even use the funds to pay for your own education.
